Pitfire Pizza Special: a Real Treat on a Gloomy Day

The weather today is not very Dubai-ish and our everything is begging for some hearty comfort food and a warm blanket. While it might be difficult to do so during work hours, the evening will be just perfect for some snuggling with a movie and some warm pizza.

Pizza to the people

If you have been to Dubai for some time, you must have heard about this cozy pizza place in the middle of a residential neighborhood, aka the Greens. Also you probably know then that their toppings are freshly made daily and that their fresh mozzarella is locally made right here in Dubai by Italian artisan cheese makers and delivered to Pitfire Pizza daily. Their slogan is quite weird, sort of hipsterish, when no one knows what it really means but everyone thinks of it as a great message:  Pizza To The People! But let’s not focus on that right now.

For those who have never heard of it (if that is possible), Pitfire is an independent pizza joint, so their food is more hearty than something made from frozen dough in franchises. As they say themselves “Our unique pizza style is best described as “East Coast meets Neapolitan” in that our pizzas are made with Italian Caputo OO flour mixed to a New York Style dough recipe.” I have no idea what Italian caputo OO flour means but it definitely sounds interesting and I can testify that it tastes even better- homey, hearty, soulful and delicious.

99 dhs special

Anyway, everything is great about Pitfire Pizza, except maybe the prices, as they are slightly higher than average Dubai pizza prices, however, there is a solution to that. Often they have some non-advertised no-name specials where you can indulge in a wonderful Italian feast. If you are willing to overlook the incompetence of the staff (sorry, the employees surprisingly are not the friendliest or most knowledgeable and willing to help you), then go ahead and order something. Currently, they offer this one: any pizza, pasta, salad, and 4 soft drinks for 99 aed. The sizes of their pizzas and pastas are quite generous, so the meal can easily be shared by a group of 3-4 people or two very hungry ones. The offer is valid till 31st March and for delivery only. Last I checked, they delivered to Tecom, the Greens, Media City, and JLT, but it’s worth checking again. There are lots of different ones but Pitfire Primo and a pizza with dates are definitely worth checking out.
